Mrs. Johansen, our librarian, hosted a 12 Days of Reading Challenge in December. Mrs. Holmes' students were very dedicated to this competition. Prior to holiday break Mrs. Carlton's preschool class and Mrs. Holmes' mythology class went around spreading Christmas cheer with one last singing tour of 2024. As a fun end to the first semester Mrs. Jevne's IBN students along with a few staff helpers organized and ran a fun day in December before we left for break for all 7th-12th grade students. The day was filled with a mat ball tournament, charades, board games, minute-to-win-it competitions, and so much more! The day ended with a BINGO competition between advisor groups. In order to win the group had to run to the HS office and sing "Frosty the Snowman". Congrats to Mr. Gisleson's 7th grade group! It was a great end to 2024! Mrs. Scheidel's 7th grade science students created a timeline of Earth History where 1 mm was equal to 1 million years. They added cards containing significant events to a rope that they extended around the commons. Good way to visualize when different events happened. #TVPride
Turkey Valley Student Senate facilitated a seatbelt safety check for National Seat Belt Day.

Here is the 2nd half of our 2024/2025 Winter Sports Concession Worker Schedule. Parents of athletes participating in Winter sports are scheduled to work the concession stand at one or more Winter events, please look closely as you may be scheduled from a cancelled fall event AND a winter event. Please find your own replacement if unable to work your assigned shift and let a TVAB member know that you will be switching. Thank you for your continued support of Turkey Valley Athletics! Looking for a coaching addition!
In early December, both kindergarten classes were visited by Merry Backes. Merry, known as "Grandma Merry" to the kindergarten students, gave each and every kindergarten student a reading pillow, along with an activity book, story book, and colored pencils. Merry, a talented seamstress, made the pillows and considerately chose fabric designs that appeal to this age group. Merry began this annual tradition 7 years ago when her oldest grandson was a student in kindergarten. Thank you, Merry, for your generosity and also for promoting the love of reading. #TVPride
