TV hosted The National Theater for Children, offering a free financial literacy program for our 6th-8th graders called Spend It or Save It? The interactive program emphasized the importance of debit vs. credit spending as well as savings and interest. What a great opportunity to share finance information with this age group.

Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony at 2:00 p.m. in the high school gym. Please join us today to thank our local veterans. #TVPride

On October 9th and 10th, seniors at Turkey Valley spent some time getting ready for Election 2024. Winneshiek County Auditor Ben Steines visited the seniors on the 9th to introduce voter registration and take the students on a deep dive of voting. Students learned about voter security, options for voting such as absentee and early voting, as well as how the information is stored and reported on election day.
The following day, several local and state candidates visited. Mike Klimesh from Iowa Senate District 32, Winneshiek County Sheriff Dan Marx, Charley Thomson and Gail Alison from Iowa House District 58 participated in a panel discussion with seniors. The conversations focused on civic engagement, serving your community, and voting.
Although many of the students will not be able to vote on November 5th, it is important and integral to our democracy that they become active members not only in government decisions but in our local communities as well. Thank you to all for spending time with our seniors! #TVPride

Turkey Valley will celebrate our local Veterans on Wednesday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m. #TVPride
